Mick was my first Sergeant on 51 Sqn in 1987, as an LAC he was an inspiration and definitely set the standards I wanted to achieve. He inspired me to do the arduous Cambrian Patrol competition, and gave me the confidence to complete Pre-Para. Our paths crossed once more when he had commissioned he was my Flight Commander in Northern Ireland on 3 Sqn, and when I later became an NCO we served on recruit training at Halton. Highly competent and respected He was still setting himself challenges when I last engaged with him in regular lunchtime banter in the Honington gym, receiving the brunt of the infamous Donoghue sarcastic humour!!. A man who laid the foundations of many great Gunner's careers, highly respected and will be sadly missed. Thoughts and wishes to his family. Per Ardua,
